Description
The Fantic XEF 250 Trail is a motorcycle built for enduro, offering the perfect combination of power and ease of riding. Advanced technology and continuous research result in a dirt bike ideal for riding on the most difficult trails and for long adventures in the middle of nature. No destination will be unreachable in the saddle of this motorcycle from the Fantic range, designed and built entirely in Italy. The XEF 250 Trail offers low maintenance. The aesthetic improvements are inspired by the Fantic Racing models. This enduro bike complies with Euro5 regulations thanks to the brand's technical partners.
The Fantic XEF 250 Trail is equipped with a 250cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine with electronic injection and features a new ECU system. The exhaust and silencer are Euro5 compliant.
At the chassis level, the steel frame has been optimized in terms of rigidity. The motorcycle benefits from a racing-derived fork, Fantic FRS 43mm USD at the front and an adjustable Fantic FRS 250 Piggyback monoshock. The swingarm is made of variable section aluminum and a removable rear frame.
The front motorcycle has 90/90x21 - 120/90x18 enduro tires mounted on aluminum rims. Powerful, wavy disc brakes front and rear 260mm and 220mm respectively.

History Fantic
Fantic Motor originated in 1968, focusing on the production and export of enduro motorcycles, mini-bikes, and go-karts. They still operate within this genre today, albeit with modern terminology like dual-sport and motard. In 2015, Fantic introduced new electric bike models, branded as "Fat Bike," and has since developed a comprehensive range of eMTB and commuter electric bicycles. In 2016, they made a return to the U.S. market under the name Fantic USA Inc.
The company started exporting to the United Kingdom in 1972, joining a wave of manufacturers that capitalized on "sixteener laws," which prohibited sixteen-year-olds from riding motorcycles over 250 cc. Fantic produced a "sensational chopper moped" and a TI (Tourismo Internazionale), both quickly gaining popularity and earning a reputation as some of the fastest mopeds available.
From the 1970s into the early 1980s, Fantic manufactured a line of 50cc mopeds known as Fantic Motor Lei. The first imports of Fantic motorcycles into the U.K. occurred in 1972 through Barron Eurotrade Ltd, located at 51 High Street Hornchurch, Essex. The initiative to form the company and import Fantic arose when one of the founders spotted the 50cc "Chopper" model featured in an American motorcycle magazine sent by his brother-in-law. The U.K. learner rider market included several other brands of what were classified as mopeds (motor and pedals), but the Fantic T.I. quickly became popular due to the rapid expansion of its dealer network. The six-speed gearbox was a strong selling feature, and the spirited Italian Minarelli 49cc engine proved very reliable.
The other 125cc Chopper model was capable of exceeding 80mph, as Terence Shea discovered when the model was first showcased to him at the Fantic factory in Barzago, Italy. He test rode the new 125cc chopper model and achieved a top speed of 130 km/h. This chopper model served as the initial inspiration for the new U.K. importer, who recognized its unique appeal for a niche market, leading to its rising fame. Part of the early marketing and advertising involved presenting a Fantic 125cc chopper model to comedian Dick Emery. Another notable model, the 125cc Caballero, was designed for on/off-road use, targeting a different segment of the market. However, the market for these types of mopeds was short-lived.
As time passed, the company expanded, and more recently, in October 2020, Fantic acquired Minarelli from Yamaha. To this day, the company continues to grow, offering a diverse selection of motorcycles and e-bikes for various purposes and trail types.
Regarding competition, Fantic achieved notable success in the Observed Trials World Championships during the 1980s, securing three titles along with seven wins at the renowned Scottish Six Days Trial. In more recent years, during the 2005 season, Fantic participated in the 250cc championship with a team known as Scuderia Fantic Motor GP. In the 2023 season, Fantic Motor took part in the Moto2 World Championship, serving as the main sponsor of the VR46 Racing Team, featuring riders Celestino Vietti and Borja Gómez. In 2024, Fantic competed in Moto2 with Xavi Cardelús and Arón Canet, achieving two race wins, five podium finishes, and concluding in fourth place, continuing their success story that began over five decades ago.
