The race weekend in Portugal was exceptional for CFMOTO Aspar Team, delivering emotion, strong results, and record-breaking performances. Maximo Quiles secured an impressive victory in the Portuguese Grand Prix, marking his third win in his debut Moto3 season. This achievement makes him the rookie with the most points and podiums in a single season, surpassing David Alonso and Pedro Acosta. With 263 points and nine podiums, Quiles remains in the fight for second place in the overall standings, just eight points from the runner-up position.

The Spanish rider started from the second row and quickly settled into the leaders’ pace, moving into second place after the first corner. Although he dropped temporarily to fifth in the early laps, Quiles recovered and returned to the podium zone before mid-race. With nine laps remaining, he took the lead and maintained a strong rhythm, controlling the race ahead of his main title rival, Angel Piqueras.

In the final laps, Quiles imposed his own aggressive and consistent pace, crossing the finish line nearly two seconds ahead of second place. This victory stands as one of his most solid performances of the season in Moto3.

Dennis Foggia – unexpected finish

For Dennis Foggia, the Portuguese round did not go as planned. The Italian rider lost positions in the opening laps and had to fight to re-enter the points zone. One lap before the finish, he managed to reach the top 15, finishing in 14th place.

Podium for David Alonso in the intermediate class

In the intermediate class, CFMOTO Aspar Team riders Dani Holgado and David Alonso delivered excellent performances. Alonso recovered six positions to finish third, securing his fifth podium of the season and third consecutive one. In the final laps, he reduced the gap to the leaders from two seconds to just seven tenths, demonstrating spectacular pace and consistent performance.

 

Dani Holgado – Rookie of the Year and top-6 secured

Dani Holgado managed a challenging race, losing some positions at the start but coming back strongly after mid-race. The Spanish rider overtook several rivals and finished the Portuguese Grand Prix in seventh place. This result gives him a 35-point advantage over teammate David Alonso, confirming his status as Rookie of the Year in the intermediate class.

Holgado also secures 6th place in the overall standings with 188 points, a position Alonso can no longer surpass.
