Strong Performance by CFMOTO ASPAR Team in Thailand Race

04.03.2025

The first race of the 2025 season took place this Sunday at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

Moto3 riders faced a challenging race, with extreme temperatures influencing the management of the 19 laps. The CFMOTO Aspar Team showed great resilience, with both riders improving their positions from the start. Dennis Foggia had a solid start from the fifth row, allowing him to close the gap to the lead group after the initial laps. He remained in the top positions and even fought for a place in the top 5, but an incident in front of him in the final part of the race caused him to lose a few positions and any chance of fighting for the podium. After several changes within the group, Foggia made a comeback and finished in a strong sixth place in his return to Moto3.

Jakob Rosenthaler was racing at the Thai circuit for the first time. Starting from the back of the grid, the Austrian rider moved up positions and maintained a strong pace, quickly reaching the points-scoring positions. Rosenthaler continued to make progress and, despite being involved in an intense battle within the main group, managed his race well each lap to eventually finish fourteenth. Unfortunately, a collision with another rider at the eighth corner of the last lap caused a crash, preventing him from securing his first points in the category.

In Moto2, the CFMOTO Aspar Team concluded the season opener with a brilliant debut by Dani Holgado, who finished eighth in his first Moto2 race. Holgado was the top rookie in the intermediate class, delivering an impressive race after starting from fifteenth. The Spanish rider showed great consistency and comfort from the start, moving into the top 10 after a few laps and staying with the front group. Holgado’s pace improved as the race progressed, and he managed his tires effectively, making a strong push in the final laps to finish in eighth place with his CFMOTO motorcycle.

David Alonso faced a tough race, where the high temperatures challenged both the physical and mental endurance of the riders. The reigning Moto3 champion made steady progress throughout the race, focusing on finding a comfortable rhythm in his first Moto2 outing. Alonso improved his pace in the final stages and finished in twenty-first place.
